Kirk's first Father's Day and Lainey and I tried to do something creative..... Silly me! I'm not creative! So, I stole an idea from a friend to paint Lainey's feet and have her walk across a piece of paper and then put a little picture of her with a cheesy little poem (but cute) about following where Daddy leads.....
First problem - Lainey wiggles..... A LOT!!!!! Can't do the foot paint alone, so I need to wait for a third party helper to hold her up so I can guide her feet into the slippery paint and then try and press them where I want them on the fancy paper....
Second problem - Wet paint is slippery AND sticky all at the same time. So once I press her foot onto this fancy paper, she instantly slides across and smears the print, but then when my helper tries to lift her off the paper, the paper sticks to her feet. AAARRGH!!! Tried 3 times before just settling for as close to imperfect as I think Kirk will tolerate......
Third problem - Printing on painted fancy paper. I think I got the paper stuck 6 times! Apparently, my printer doesn't understand my vision!

Fourth problem - capturing a happy picture from Lainey. She's not interested in what the picture looks like, she just wants to know why Mommy is the only one who gets to push buttons and make the flashy light thing..... she was quite annoyed, and I was left with a blurry selection of grumpy Lainey pictures...
The Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, Eighth, and Ninth problem all stem from photoshop and my refusal to let Kirk see what's going on long enough to help me.... needless to say, even after I said *#&@ and made him come fix it, the printer (probably on strike from our argument with the painted paper) had other plans for the picture, and I wasted 3 sheets of photo paper before finally getting the picture to print.
So, without further adieu, here is our picture. You can laugh if you like.... Kirk will probably make me re-do the whole entire thing.....
Serves me right for trying to play with someone else's creativity!
Sweeeet! Fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth problems from Photoshop? That would be a good day for me. You've inspired me to go borrow someone's creativity :)
ReplyDeleteHa ha, this sounds like me any time I try to do... well anything really. I think it turned out cute though!
